Fenwick Larkin, Master Mariner Dies Suddenly, 65

Capt. Fenwick Larkin, 65, well known master mariner skipper of the of the dragger Wild Duck, died suddenly this morning at the Addison Gilbert hospital shortly after admittance.

Capt. Larkin became ill at home and was rushed to the hospital.

The captain same to Gloucester from Rockland, Maine, in 1931. He was in charge of lobster smacks for the Consolidated Lobster company for 23 years. In the last 10 years, he was captain of thw Wind, Theresa R. and Wild Duck.

A native of Shag Harbor, N.S., he left his home town in 1921 and settled in Rockland before coming here to live. His parents were Joseph and Maria (Adams) Larkin.

He leaves his wife, Anna Alice (Gammon), five daughters, Eleanor widow of Ed Windsor, Adra W. wife of Gilman Blatchford, Ruth C. wife John Hale, Dorothy A. wife of Robert Strangman and Miss Donna M. Larkin. Three sons James R., John R., and Clinton R. Larkin all of this city. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren, two of whom were brought up by Capt. and Mrs. Larkin: Richard Dickinson of this city and Robert Dickinson, Airman 3c stationed in Chandler, Ariz. Two brothers, Mitchell and Andrew Larkin, and a sistermentter, Althea wife of Robert Nickerson, all of Shag Harbor also survive him.

Funeral will be held Sunday at 2 at the Pike Funeral home, 61 Middle street. Interment will follow in Beechbrook cemetery.

He was a member of the Master Mariners association.

FUNERAL OF CAPT. LARKIN

Local master mariners, relative and friends attended the funeral of Capt. Fenwick M. Larkin of 29 Cleveland street, held Sunday at 2 at the Pike Funeral home, 61 Middle street. Rev. Ray W. Rayburn pastor of the Riverdale Methodist church officiated.

Interment was in Beechbrook cemetery. There were many floral tributes. Pallbesrers were captains, Gilbert Lafford, Lemuel R. Firth, Harry R. Clattenburg, Mansfield Conrad, William Wilkie, Michael Murphy and Delbert Hines.

Among Capt. Larkin's survivors is a daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Winslow of this city.
